I wanted to be further in the arc before I did the April Fools comic, but at the same time I was hoping it was abrupt enough that it seemed weird and some may figure out it was an April Fools comic.

Anyway, this comic takes place after 1153. 1154 is non-canon.

Caligos and Fitz could make a good team for Jix's mental condition.

Also, "Fitiz"?

Regarding Page 1154...
I certainly thought it was a real canon page for a couple reasons:

1) Save for being a sweet hubby to Remula, we know next-to-nothing about Fitz; so that job made some reasonable sense for the comic, especially the more bizarre things Jix faced.
2) Posted not on April Fools Day, but the day before. Thus, it comes off as less of a joke and more of a plot twist M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of.
3) Previous AFD comics didn't follow the number scheme exactly like this one did, and continuing the comic numbers from the fake comic makes it feel more real, throwing a lot of people off.

Well, regarding #2: save for being late with comics, my posting schedule is Wednesday/Friday. So if I'm to do an April Fools comic it'll be on the day, the day after, or the day before. If it happens on a Monday, I won't bother doing it on Friday or the next Wednesday, though. In fact, I think that might have been what happened last year. This year, it was close enough.

I think the other reason you were fooled is that I don't typically do story based April Fools pranks. I typically do something more visual. The one during the Govenor arc of Dragon City was a mix of both, announcing Godzilla as the new mayor.

With the numbering...I didn't really do that on purpose. I had forgotten that I don't typically do that and just slapped the number on there.
